A Telegram Channel is a broadcast feature that lets one account publish messages to a large audience of subscribers. Unlike a normal chat, subscribers usually receive posts read-only, which makes channels efficient for one-to-many distribution. Messages can be public or private, and channels may be paired with bots to automate posting, moderation, or link sharing.
In cyber security, channels matter because they are a low-friction way to spread phishing lures, propaganda, stolen data, or command-and-control instructions. Attackers value them for speed, reach, and the ability to reuse the same content across many followers while changing wording to evade filters. Defenders watch for sudden bursts of similar posts, repeated persona reuse, and links that route users to credential theft or malware. Channels can also support legitimate security operations, such as incident alerts and threat-intelligence broadcasts.
