Motor size

The scale of the propulsion unit, which can affect power and safety.

Motor size is the scale of a propulsion unit. In practice, a larger motor can produce more thrust, but it also raises power, heat, stress, and safety risk. That trade-off matters in engineering because the strongest option is not always the most stable or controllable one.

In cyber security, the same idea appears when attackers or defenders scale up a capability instead of redesigning it. A bigger botnet, more aggressive scanning, or higher-rate password attacks can increase impact, but also noise, cost, and detection risk. Defenders apply the reverse lesson by using the smallest effective control: rate limiting, least privilege, and narrower automation reduce blast radius while still improving performance.
