In cyber security, license incentives matter because they can speed up deployment decisions that affect the attack surface. A rushed evaluation may leave organizations with weak segregation between test and production systems, overbroad admin access, or incomplete logging and policy review. Defenders also use license incentives strategically, for example to encourage rapid rollout of safer tools such as MFA, endpoint protection, or secure virtualization platforms.
