Integration checks

Verification that connected tools and services still function after the migration.

Integration checks are tests that confirm connected tools and services still work after a change such as a CMS migration. A modern platform rarely runs alone: it may depend on single sign-on, payment gateways, email services, analytics, webhooks, API connections, logging systems, and security tools. If any of those links break, the site may look live while important functions fail in the background.

In cyber security, this matters because broken integrations can create blind spots or weaken controls. A failed logging feed can hide suspicious activity, a misconfigured authentication link can lock out users, and a disabled alerting or filtering service can reduce detection and response. Defenders use integration checks to verify credentials, certificate trust, permissions, data flow, and error handling after deployment. Attackers may exploit migration gaps when teams assume every connection survived the move. Regular integration checks help catch silent failures before they become security incidents or operational outages.
