ERP/CRM refers to business software that combines enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management. These platforms handle core operations such as orders, invoices, inventory, support tickets, contacts, and document management. Because they centralize sensitive business data, they are high-value targets in cyber attacks.
Security flaws in ERP/CRM systems often have broad impact. An authorization mistake in a document-serving feature, for example, can let an unauthenticated attacker read contracts, backups, internal notes, or uploaded files. Attackers commonly look for weak access controls, exposed admin interfaces, file-download endpoints, and risky parameters that influence what data is returned. Defenders should treat ERP/CRM systems as critical infrastructure: patch quickly, enforce strong authentication and least privilege, review logs for unusual file-access requests, and protect document repositories as carefully as databases.
