A data-leak site is a website where criminals publish victim names, stolen data samples, or other material to support an extortion threat. Ransomware groups may use these sites to pressure organizations into paying, including when files have been copied as well as-or instead of-encrypted.
A listing is a warning signal, not proof by itself that an intrusion succeeded or that data was stolen. Claims may be false, duplicated, or difficult to verify. Defenders should investigate relevant access logs, possible data transfers, and encryption activity, then confirm the incident through reliable evidence rather than treating the site's victim count as a tally of verified breaches.
