Urban proprioception

An AI-driven way to sense operational pressure in a city through connected data signals.

Urban proprioception is an AI-driven way to sense operational pressure in a city by correlating connected data signals such as service demand, queues, maintenance load, and system telemetry. Instead of only recording what happened, it tries to infer when a municipality is moving toward overload. The goal is early warning: spot drift, rising strain, or service degradation before a local problem becomes a wider disruption.

In cyber security, this matters because attacks on municipal networks often show up first as unusual operational behavior, not as a clear alarm. A ransomware event, system outage, or data manipulation campaign may cause delays, abnormal workloads, or inconsistent sensor and workflow data. Urban proprioception can help defenders notice those patterns faster and reassign staff, isolate systems, or validate whether the pressure is real. It can also be attacked: adversaries may flood, spoof, or tamper with signals to hide intrusion or force bad decisions. It is useful as an early-warning layer, but it does not replace incident response, logging, or forensic analysis.
