Threat intelligence sharing

The exchange of structured defensive information so other organizations can detect or respond faster.

Threat intelligence sharing is the structured exchange of defensive information about malicious activity, vulnerabilities, indicators, tactics, or incident patterns. The goal is to help other organizations detect, block, or investigate similar attacks faster than they could on their own.

In practice, this can include indicators of compromise, attacker infrastructure, phishing content, malicious file hashes, or details about how an intrusion worked. Sharing matters because one organization may only see a small piece of an attack, while combined reports reveal a broader campaign. Good sharing is specific enough to be useful but carefully sanitized to avoid leaking secrets, customer data, or internal credentials. Defenders use it in threat feeds, industry alliances, and incident response coordination; attackers can also exploit poor sharing if sensitive logs or prompts are exposed. In modern AI security, the same idea is being adapted to incident records so teams can compare failures, recognize repeat abuse, and respond consistently.
