Temperature regulation is the control of nozzle and bed heat so filament stays within a usable printing range. In an FDM printer, the hot end must melt material enough to flow, while the bed must stay warm enough to help the first layer stick without warping the part. Different filaments need different temperatures, and even small changes can affect layer adhesion, stringing, oozing, and surface quality.
In security and reliability work, temperature regulation matters because thermal misconfiguration can create weak prints, clogged nozzles, or failed jobs that waste time and material. Defenders look for stable sensor feedback, firmware limits, and thermal runaway protection to stop heaters from exceeding safe ranges. Attackers or careless users may exploit poor settings, altered profiles, or disabled safeguards to degrade output or stress hardware. Good temperature control is therefore both a quality setting and a safety control.
