Spogliatoi are changing rooms: areas where people expect a high level of privacy because they may be undressing or storing personal belongings. In cyber security and physical security, that expectation changes how cameras, sensors, and access-control systems must be designed and reviewed.
In practice, a locker room is a sensitive surveillance zone. Even if the goal is anti-theft or safety, recording there can create privacy, legal, and data-protection risks. Security teams must consider necessity, proportionality, notice, retention limits, and whether a less intrusive control can work instead. Attackers and abusive insiders may also target these spaces by placing hidden cameras, stealing footage, or using connected devices to collect sensitive images. For defenders, the key lesson is that technical controls in spogliatoi are never “just security”: they are also high-risk data processing and must be governed accordingly.
