A secure transaction is a transfer that is carefully checked before it is signed and broadcast to a blockchain network. In cryptocurrency, signing is the critical act that authorizes movement of funds, so security depends on verifying the recipient address, amount, fees, and any contract data before approval. Once a transaction is broadcast, it can be difficult or impossible to reverse.
This matters because attackers often try to trick users at the signing step. Common tactics include clipboard address replacement, phishing wallets that hide the true destination, and “blind signing” prompts that conceal contract actions. Defenses include hardware wallets that display transaction details on a trusted screen, address whitelisting, transaction simulation, multi-signature approval, and careful human review. A secure transaction is less about the blockchain itself and more about making sure the signer truly understands what is being authorized.
