React Server Components are a React feature that renders part of an application on the server and sends the rendered result to the browser. This reduces client-side work and can improve performance, but it also means the server is doing more of the application’s heavy lifting.
In security terms, RSC matters because it creates shared server-side request paths that attackers can target. If the RSC pipeline or related endpoints such as Server Actions contain a flaw, a single crafted request may trigger excessive work, crash handling logic, or stall responses, creating a denial-of-service condition. Defenders should track exactly which builds use RSC, keep React and framework packages patched, and minimize exposure of server-side mutation endpoints in production.
