Product presentation is the visible and practical way a product reaches a customer. It includes packaging, labeling, seals, setup instructions, branding, and the first-use experience. In security terms, presentation is not cosmetic: it helps users judge whether a product is genuine, intact, and safe to use.
Cyber attackers can abuse weak presentation to impersonate trusted vendors, slip counterfeit hardware into a supply chain, or make a malicious device look legitimate. A poor presentation can also hide signs of tampering, such as broken seals, mismatched labels, or altered accessories. Defenders use consistent packaging, tamper-evident materials, signed firmware, and clear onboarding steps to reduce confusion and make fraud easier to spot. Good product presentation supports trust, and trust is a security control when customers must decide whether a device or download is authentic.
