Process Monitor is the PeopleSoft screen used to review submitted process requests and their current or final status. Administrators use it to see whether a batch job is queued, initiated, processing, completed, or ended in error. It is one of the main places to check when a scheduled task appears healthy but still may not have run at the right time.
In cyber security and operations, Process Monitor matters because availability is more than a green status. A job can succeed after a cutoff, miss a run window, or be retried manually, leaving gaps in auditability and business continuity. Attackers and insiders may also try to delay, suppress, or resubmit scheduled work to disrupt reporting, payroll, or integrations. Defenders use Process Monitor with scheduler logs and timing checks to confirm that work started on time, finished in sequence, and produced trustworthy results.
