.NET Native AOT is a build mode that compiles a .NET application ahead of time into native machine code. Unlike a typical managed app, it depends less on a Just-In-Time (JIT) compiler at runtime, so the finished binary can look and behave more like a conventional native executable.
This matters in cyber security because Native AOT can change how defenders analyze software. Static tools may see fewer managed metadata clues, and runtime instrumentation can be less straightforward than with standard .NET assemblies. Attackers may use Native AOT to package loaders, droppers, or communication modules that feel more self-contained and less obviously “.NET,” while defenders look for suspicious binaries, unusual API usage, and code paths that interact with cloud services, DNS, or other normal enterprise channels.
