An integration roadmap is a structured plan for bringing systems, teams, data, and timelines into alignment during a change such as a merger, acquisition, platform migration, or major reorganization. It defines what will change, in what order, who owns each step, and what dependencies must be resolved first.
In cyber security, an integration roadmap matters because security failures often come from poor coordination rather than a single technical flaw. Missing asset inventories, unclear ownership, rushed identity merges, and delayed patching can create gaps that attackers exploit. A strong roadmap helps teams preserve access control, logging, network segmentation, backup coverage, and incident response while the environment is changing. Defenders use it to plan migrations, assign SMEs, set cutover windows, and track risk acceptance; attackers benefit when no roadmap exists and systems drift out of control.
