Infrastructure patterns are the repeated technical choices attackers make in domains, IP space, hosting providers, servers, and file-delivery methods. Even when malware, email lures, or payloads change, the same registration habits, redirect chains, TLS setup, and staging servers can reveal that separate events belong to one intrusion set.
In cyber security, these patterns matter because they help defenders cluster activity and attribute campaigns with more confidence. Analysts can hunt for shared domain naming schemes, reused infrastructure, consistent time zones, and similar delivery paths from phishing emails to payload hosting. That makes infrastructure analysis useful for blocking, takedown, and threat hunting: if the payload is new, the surrounding infrastructure may still expose the operator’s tradecraft.
