Impersonation protection

Controls designed to reduce the risk of someone posing as a trusted person in a meeting.

Impersonation protection is a set of controls that helps a meeting platform detect or reduce the risk of someone posing as a trusted person during a live call. It goes beyond login security: even if an account is valid, the person speaking may still be an impostor using stolen credentials, a spoofed display name, voice cloning, or manipulated video.

This matters because many real attacks happen at the point of human trust. An attacker who convincingly imitates an executive, vendor, or helpdesk agent can push urgent requests, authorize fraudulent payments, or trick participants into sharing sensitive information. Defenses can include identity verification prompts, warning banners, unusual-behavior detection, host approval controls, and integration with deepfake analysis tools. In practice, impersonation protection turns a meeting into a trust checkpoint, helping users verify who is really present before they act on instructions.
