Go-to-market strategy

The plan for reaching customers and turning a product into revenue.

A go-to-market strategy is the plan a company uses to reach customers, sell a product, and turn that product into revenue. It covers who the target buyers are, how the product will be positioned, which channels will be used, and how sales and onboarding will work.

In cybersecurity, go-to-market strategy matters because rapid customer growth can create security pressure. As teams add users, integrations, and support workflows, they may expose more identities, permissions, and data paths. Defenders look for whether access is role-based, whether audit logs are available, and whether tenant separation and credential handling are designed to scale. Attackers can exploit weak onboarding, overly broad privileges, or rushed third-party integrations. A strong go-to-market plan therefore needs security controls built in, not added after launch.
