F1/F2/F3 bands are time-based electricity pricing zones used to charge consumption differently depending on when power is used. In Italy and similar tariff systems, F1 usually covers peak weekday hours, while F2 and F3 cover other daytime, evening, night, or weekend periods. The idea is simple: the same kilowatt-hour can cost more or less depending on the schedule.
In cyber security, this matters because time-based rules are easy to misread and easy to abuse. Fraudulent billing pages, fake utility offers, or malicious subscription traps may hide costs in band logic, making a service look cheaper than it is. Defenders should validate how usage is measured, how schedules are applied, and whether the displayed rate matches the actual tariff engine. More broadly, F1/F2/F3 bands are a good example of policy complexity: when pricing depends on timing, logs, rules, and exceptions become essential for detecting manipulation or unexpected charges.
