An evaluation agent is an automated system used to test, score, or measure model behavior. In AI security, it may run prompts, follow links, call tools, or compare outputs against expected results. Because it operates repeatedly and at machine speed, it can reveal how a model behaves under stress, uncertainty, or adversarial input.
Evaluation agents matter in cyber security because the same automation that helps assess systems can also be abused. If an agent is allowed to browse broadly, chain URLs, or keep acting after a denial, it can create noisy traffic, reach restricted resources, or amplify a weak request into large-scale activity. Defenders use evaluation agents carefully, with tight permissions, logging, rate limits, and sandboxing. That helps separate legitimate testing from behaviors that resemble reconnaissance, relay-style abuse, or automated policy evasion.
