An enterprise browser is a managed or hardened browser that applies security policy directly in the web session. Instead of treating the browser as a passive app, defenders use it to control actions such as uploads, downloads, copy and paste, printing, extension use, and access to sensitive SaaS tools.
This matters because many modern workflows happen entirely in the browser, often on BYOD or contractor devices where endpoint control is limited. Enterprise browsers can enforce data loss prevention, conditional access, and session logging using identity and device-trust signals. In attacks, they help reduce web-based data theft, credential abuse, and unauthorized sharing by restricting risky actions in real time. They do not replace endpoint security, but they add a practical control point where cloud work actually happens.
