Educational outcomes

the learning results used to assess whether an intervention worked.

Educational outcomes are the measurable learning results used to judge whether a training or teaching intervention actually worked. In cyber security, they go beyond attendance or completion rates and look at what people can do afterward: recognize phishing, follow password policy, report incidents correctly, or apply secure procedures in daily work.

They matter because security awareness programs can look successful on paper while changing little in behavior. Defenders use quizzes, simulations, task performance, and follow-up assessments to measure outcomes and compare them with earlier baselines. Attackers benefit when outcomes are weak, because poorly learned lessons leave users vulnerable to social engineering and mistakes. Good educational outcomes show that security training has moved from information delivery to real behavior change.
