console-script entry point

A metadata-defined command wrapper that Conda may generate during installation.

A console-script entry point is package metadata that tells a Python installer how to create a command-line launcher. Instead of shipping a finished executable, the package declares a module and callable name, and the installer generates a small wrapper script that runs that code when a user types the command.

This matters because the metadata is transformed into a real file on disk. If path handling or validation is weak, a crafted package can cause the wrapper to be written in the wrong place or overwrite an existing file. In secure systems, installers must treat entry-point metadata as untrusted input, normalize paths carefully, and restrict write locations. Defenders look for unexpected wrapper generation during install, while attackers may abuse it to alter commands, poison environments, or create file-write primitives in build pipelines.
