A character rig is the digital structure inside animation software that lets an animator pose and move a character. It commonly includes a skeleton of joints, controls for manipulating body parts, and rules that make movement behave consistently. A rig may be stored in or linked to a larger production project.
Rigs matter in cybersecurity because they are editable working assets, not just finished images. If exposed, they may reveal elements of a production pipeline and can be reused or modified. In a file archive, a rig’s presence alone does not prove where the files came from or whether they are complete. Studios can reduce exposure with role-based access, restricted sharing, version logs, and clear records of asset provenance.
