Blueprints is Unreal Engine’s visual scripting system. Instead of writing traditional source code, developers connect nodes to define gameplay logic, events, and object behavior. It is widely used for rapid iteration, prototyping, and mod-friendly game features.
In security terms, Blueprints matter because visual logic can still call powerful engine functions, including ones that touch files, assets, or native code. If untrusted content reaches a Blueprint path that was never meant to handle attacker-controlled input, it can become a trust-boundary problem. In real attacks, that can mean file writes, path abuse, or persistence tricks such as placing a file where Windows will run it later. Defenders should treat Blueprint-exposed features like code: validate paths, limit what scripts can access, and avoid giving community content direct access to sensitive system operations.
