Blockly

A visual programming library that lets users build logic with drag-and-drop blocks.

Blockly is a visual programming library that lets users build logic by connecting drag-and-drop blocks instead of writing text code. Each block represents an action, condition, or variable, and the blocks fit together like puzzle pieces to form executable workflows. It is widely used in educational tools and simple automation interfaces because it makes programming easier to learn and faster to assemble.

In cyber security, Blockly matters because the same low-friction design can help attackers build and update abuse logic without deep coding skills. Fraud kits and malware controllers may use block-based flows to define triggers, device checks, campaign switching, or command handling. That can make malicious operations easier to maintain at scale and harder to read at a glance. Defenders should treat block-based automation as real code: review exported projects, monitor what actions the blocks can trigger, and assess whether the interface is being used to hide complex behavior behind a simple visual editor.
