Battery testing

Checks used to measure how a cell performs before reuse or assembly.

Battery testing is the set of checks used to measure how a cell behaves before reuse, pairing, or assembly. Common measurements include voltage, capacity, internal resistance, charge retention, temperature rise, and leakage. The goal is to sort cells by condition and reject units that are weak, unstable, or unsafe.

In cyber security, battery testing matters because it often sits inside digital production and inventory systems. If test results are altered, mislabeled, or lost, unsafe cells can be approved or good cells can be discarded. Connected testers, databases, and battery-management tooling therefore need access control, calibration records, and tamper-evident logs. In real attacks or failures, the risk is less about breaking the cell itself and more about corrupting the process around it: spoofed readings, bad traceability, or inconsistent automation can hide defects and undermine safety. Secure, repeatable testing helps keep reuse decisions trustworthy.
