Axios is a JavaScript HTTP client library used in both browser and Node.js environments. Developers use it to send requests, set headers, follow redirects, manage timeouts, and handle responses through a consistent API. Because it often sits in the request-construction layer, Axios can influence how an application talks to APIs, proxies, and internal services.
That makes Axios security-sensitive. If a flaw affects header processing, proxy handling, or request adaptation, attackers may be able to change how traffic is interpreted, bypass controls, or reach resources the application should not expose. Defenders usually respond by inventorying where Axios is deployed, checking versions, reviewing configuration, and testing how untrusted input affects outbound requests. In practice, a proof of concept for an Axios vulnerability raises priority because shared libraries can create wide downstream risk even before the full exploit details are known.
