AI summarization is the use of machine learning models to compress longer text into a shorter version that keeps the main points. It is common in browser features, email tools, news feeds, and help desks because it reduces reading time and makes large volumes of content easier to scan.
In cyber security, summarization matters because it can change meaning, omit context, or repeat false claims from its source data. Attackers can exploit that by seeding content that looks legitimate but summarizes into misleading advice, fake headlines, or convincing phishing pretexts. Defenders use summarization to triage logs, tickets, and threat intelligence faster, but they still need to validate the original source before acting. Any system that relies on AI summaries should treat provenance, filtering, and human review as security controls, not optional quality checks.
