Web panel

A browser-based control interface used to manage systems, tasks, or campaign activity.

A web panel is a browser-based control interface used to manage systems, tasks, users, or campaign activity. In legitimate environments, panels help admins configure services, review logs, and assign work. In cyber operations, the same idea is often used for command-and-control: an operator logs in through a normal-looking website to issue commands, check beaconing systems, or sort stolen data.

Web panels matter because they centralize control. If attackers reuse one panel across different goals, defenders may see shared infrastructure behind espionage, theft, or persistence. That can reveal operator habits, linked accounts, and the scope of an intrusion. Security teams look for unusual login patterns, exposed admin paths, weak authentication, and web-session activity tied to suspicious network traffic. Protecting these interfaces is critical because the panel is often the real mission hub, not just the malware it manages.
