Verified result

an output that has been checked and accepted for use.

A verified result is an output that has been checked against a trusted standard and accepted for use. In security operations, that means the answer is not just plausible; it has been reviewed by a person, validated by a rule, or confirmed by another system before it enters a workflow.

This matters because cyber security depends on accuracy under pressure. Attackers exploit weak validation by sending false alerts, poisoned data, or convincing content that looks correct at first glance. Defenders use verification to reduce those risks: malware detections are confirmed before blocking, phishing reports are checked before escalation, and AI-generated summaries are reviewed before analysts act on them. The idea also helps with cost analysis. A cheap tool that produces many unusable outputs can be more expensive than a slower system that returns fewer but verified results. In practice, the value of the output begins only after it has been trusted enough to use.
