UI density

the amount of information packed into a limited interface area.

UI density is the amount of information packed into a limited interface area. In security work, it matters because people must notice warnings, verify prompts, and complete tasks quickly. When a screen is too dense, labels wrap, buttons crowd together, and important details blend into the background. That can slow an analyst down or cause a user to approve something they did not fully understand.

Attackers can exploit high UI density by overwhelming users with long permission dialogs, busy phishing pages, or cluttered fake login screens that hide small clues. Defenders try to lower density where decisions matter most: using clear spacing, strong visual hierarchy, concise text, and progressive disclosure so only the needed information appears at each step. Good density is not about emptiness; it is about making the right action easy to find and hard to miss.
