A TransferList is a set of objects or buffers that are moved between execution contexts, such as from sandboxed JavaScript into host-side native code. Instead of copying data, the runtime may hand ownership or references across a boundary so the receiving side can use them efficiently.
This matters in cyber security because transfer paths often cross trust boundaries. If validation is inconsistent, an attacker can exploit a mismatch between what was checked and what is later used, leading to type confusion or memory corruption in native code. In real attacks, transfer mechanisms are attractive because they can expose powerful host objects or buffers to untrusted code. Defenders should treat transfer APIs as part of the attack surface, validate inputs at each step, and avoid passing attacker-influenced data into privileged transfers.
