Toroidal

shaped like a ring or donut.

Toroidal describes a shape resembling a ring or doughnut. In plasma physics, the term often refers to plasma arranged in a closed loop, a geometry used in some fusion research systems.

The shape matters because hot plasma is difficult to confine: it can escape or lose energy unless controlled. A toroidal form helps explain confinement strategies, but seeing a ring-shaped glow does not prove that nuclear fusion is taking place. In cyber security, the term may appear in technical descriptions or demonstrations involving plasma-based equipment; it describes geometry, not a security property or evidence of a particular capability.
