Recurring event

A meeting or conference that returns on a regular schedule instead of happening only once.

A recurring event is a meeting, conference, or exercise that happens on a regular schedule, such as yearly, quarterly, or monthly, rather than as a one-time gathering. In cyber security, recurring events matter because they create a dependable rhythm for sharing threat intelligence, coordinating teams, reviewing controls, and practicing incident response.

Defenders often use recurring events for security briefings, tabletop exercises, patch review meetings, and conference cycles that spread technical knowledge across a community. Attackers may also pay attention to these schedules: predictable dates can reveal when staff are traveling, when inboxes are full of event notices, or when organizations are less focused on normal operations. That makes recurring events useful to defenders for planning and training, but also something to manage carefully with access control, phishing awareness, and good operational hygiene.
