Private Safety Processing

A reported safety architecture designed to detect misuse while limiting exposure of raw prompts and responses.

Private Safety Processing is a safety design for AI systems that tries to detect abuse without giving human reviewers broad access to raw prompts and responses. Instead of relying on full content inspection, it can use limited telemetry such as identifiers, timing, usage patterns, or other behavioral signals to flag suspicious activity while reducing data exposure.

This matters because security teams still need to spot fraud, policy evasion, account abuse, and multi-session attacks even when retention is minimized. In practice, attackers may spread harmful instructions across many chats or accounts to avoid simple keyword checks. A privacy-preserving safety layer helps defenders correlate those sessions, but it also narrows the amount of text available for investigation, so some misuse may be harder to confirm. The goal is to balance data minimization with effective abuse detection.
