Notifica is the official delivery of a legal or regulatory act to a person or organization. In practice, it is the point at which a notice is considered legally served, so deadlines, reply rights, and procedural obligations begin to run. For security and compliance teams, this matters because a case, audit, or enforcement action may depend on when delivery can be proven, not just when a message was sent.
In cyber security, notifica appears in breach reporting, privacy enforcement, administrative penalties, and requests for preservation of records. Defenders must track verified channels, timestamps, and receipt evidence to avoid missing response windows. Attackers can also abuse the idea by sending fake “official” notices in phishing campaigns, hoping recipients will act without verification. Good incident response includes checking sender identity, legal validity, and whether the act was actually served through an authorized channel.
