Mongoid

The official Ruby object-document mapper for working with MongoDB data in Ruby applications.

Mongoid is the official Ruby object-document mapper for MongoDB. It lets Ruby applications store and retrieve MongoDB documents as Ruby objects, so developers work with models instead of raw database commands. That convenience makes Mongoid a critical part of the application’s data path, not just a database helper.

In security terms, flaws in Mongoid can affect how an app validates input, builds queries, and enforces access rules before data reaches MongoDB. If attackers find a weakness in the library or its version in a dependency tree, they may be able to bypass controls, read sensitive records, change or delete data, or disrupt service. Defenders should track where Mongoid is embedded, keep it patched, rebuild and redeploy applications after upgrades, and verify that production is running the fixed release. Because Mongoid sits inside application code, patching it is part of protecting the full trust boundary around the database.
