A learning loop is the cycle where operational feedback is collected, analyzed, and used to improve a system over time. In cyber security, that feedback can come from logs, alerts, user reports, sensor data, or pilot deployments. The loop matters because modern defenses and complex systems get better when teams repeatedly tune rules, models, configuration, and procedures based on what actually happened in the field.
The same loop can be abused. Attackers may poison telemetry, manipulate training data, or trigger noisy events that cause bad tuning and weaker detection. Defenders reduce that risk with access controls, data validation, change review, versioning, and separation between testing and production. A controlled learning loop helps organizations improve without letting untrusted feedback distort security decisions.
