Internal Threat Intelligence

Private detection data and analysis used to identify suspicious activity patterns and risk signals.

Internal threat intelligence is private security data and analysis collected inside an organization to detect suspicious activity patterns and risk signals. It can include endpoint telemetry, network logs, malware samples, abuse reports, indicator histories, and analyst findings. Unlike public threat feeds, this intelligence is tailored to the organization’s own environment, users, and attack surface.

It matters because many serious attacks do not look obviously malicious at first. Internal intelligence helps defenders spot weak signals such as unusual login behavior, repeated exploit attempts, device anomalies, or activity that matches a known attacker playbook. Security teams use it to triage alerts, prioritize high-risk users, tune detections, and decide when to harden systems or investigate further. In mobile security, for example, internal threat intelligence may drive high-confidence warnings when device behavior fits patterns associated with targeted spyware or other advanced threats, even if compromise has not been proven.
