Guided rocket

A rocket designed with control or guidance elements that can influence its path after launch.

A guided rocket is a rocket that uses control or guidance elements to adjust its path after launch. Unlike a simple unguided rocket, it may rely on fins, sensors, software, navigation data, or a control system to improve accuracy. The goal is to steer the projectile toward a target or keep it on a planned trajectory.

In cyber security, guided rockets matter because modern weapons development is increasingly software-dependent. Guidance logic, targeting data, telemetry, and testing workflows can all be supported, analyzed, or accelerated by digital tools. That creates dual-use risk: the same engineering assistance used for legitimate aerospace work can also support harmful weapons design, troubleshooting, or validation. Defenders look for intent signals, repeated technical questioning, and iterative requests that suggest a move from theory to operational testing.
