Fume control is the set of measures used to keep airborne vapors, odors, and particles from spreading through a workspace. It usually combines enclosure design, airflow management, filtration, and safe handling practices. In a resin-printing lab, for example, good fume control helps keep chemical exposure and nuisance odors away from the operator and nearby equipment.
In cyber security, the term is a useful containment analogy: the goal is not to eliminate every hazard at once, but to limit where it can go. Security teams use the same idea when they isolate risky systems, sandbox untrusted code, segment networks, or restrict access to sensitive devices. Weak containment can let malware, data leakage, or unsafe device behavior spread farther than it should. Strong containment reduces exposure and makes the environment more predictable.
