Enterprise controls are the administrative and security features that let organizations govern a service at scale. In AI platforms and SaaS products, these controls often include identity and access management, audit logs, retention settings, role-based permissions, and policy enforcement. They turn a shared cloud service into something a company can safely operate under internal rules.
These controls matter because they reduce misuse, support compliance, and help incident response teams see what happened and who did it. In cyber security, strong enterprise controls can limit account takeover impact, preserve evidence for investigations, and enforce data handling rules. Weak controls, by contrast, make it harder to track sensitive prompts, prove access, or restrict data retention. Defenders should treat enterprise controls as part of the trust boundary, not a convenience feature.
