A drone attack is the use of an unmanned aircraft for surveillance, disruption, or hostile action. In cyber security and hybrid-threat analysis, drones matter because they bridge the digital and physical worlds: they can collect imagery, map facilities, intimidate staff, or deliver payloads near critical infrastructure. Even when no payload is carried, repeated drone activity can force defenders to divert attention, trigger alarms, and slow normal operations.
Drone attacks are often part of wider campaigns rather than isolated events. Security teams may see them alongside cyber intrusion, false online narratives, or other forms of pressure. That makes correlation important: logs from access control, CCTV, radio frequency monitoring, and public reports can help determine whether the activity is coordinated. Defenses usually combine airspace awareness, perimeter security, incident response procedures, and clear communication plans. The key risk is not only physical damage, but also confusion, delay, and loss of trust.
