Dispatch systems

operational platforms used to route emergency calls and coordinate response services.

Dispatch systems are the operational platforms that receive emergency calls, route them to the right center or unit, and help coordinate police, fire, medical, utility, or public-safety responses. They often connect telephony, radio, mapping, records, and computer-aided dispatch tools, so they can become a central point of control during an incident.

In cyber security, dispatch systems matter because disruption can quickly become a life-safety problem. Ransomware, intrusion, or insider misuse may delay call handling, block unit assignment, or expose sensitive location and caller data. Defenders reduce risk with strong segmentation, access control, logging, tested backups, redundant communications paths, and manual fallback procedures so responders can keep operating if the primary platform is unavailable.
