Corner lift

when the edges of a printed part start to rise from the bed.

Corner lift is a 3D printing defect where the edges or corners of a printed part begin to rise from the print bed. It usually happens when the first layers do not stick well enough, often because of uneven bed temperature, poor leveling, drafts, or material shrinkage. As the part curls upward, the model can lose alignment and the print may fail.

In cyber security, corner lift matters in cyber-physical systems and digital manufacturing because it can affect the integrity of a build. A bad print may weaken a prototype, break a tooling part, or hide signs of process interference. Defenders watch for early lift with cameras, bed-adhesion checks, and printer telemetry so they can stop a run before the defect spreads. In attack scenarios, an adversary might try to sabotage a print by disrupting calibration, temperature, or material handling, causing corner lift and reducing trust in the output.
