Community-powered

A product model that relies on shared input or collective data to improve outcomes.

Community-powered describes a product or security service that improves by using shared input from many users, organizations, or sensors. In cyber security, that shared data may include vulnerability reports, malware samples, file reputations, attack indicators, or analyst feedback. The goal is to turn many small observations into stronger detection, better ranking, and faster response than any single customer could provide.

This model matters because security teams often face more alerts and vulnerabilities than they can review manually. Community data can help prioritize what is most likely to be exploited, surface emerging threats sooner, and improve automated remediation. But it also creates risk: attackers may try to poison the data, submit noisy reports, or manipulate reputation systems. Defenders therefore need validation, trust scoring, and human review so community input improves judgment instead of weakening it.
