A cloud session is a remotely hosted working session that preserves application state, user context, or runtime activity on a server instead of only on a local device. It can include browser state, authentication cookies, temporary files, agent actions, or other data needed to keep work continuous across devices or users. In AI and automation platforms, cloud sessions often let an agent resume tasks without rebuilding context from scratch.
Cloud sessions matter because they concentrate trust. If an attacker steals a session token, hijacks the session store, or reuses leftover state, they may inherit the same access as the original user. Defenders therefore protect cloud sessions with short-lived tokens, strong isolation, reauthentication, session expiry, and careful logging controls. In real attacks, session theft and fixation target this layer; in defenses, separation of identities and strict state handling help keep remote work useful without turning it into a reusable foothold.
