Blockchain intelligence

Analysis of blockchain activity to understand transactions, addresses, and related risk patterns.

Blockchain intelligence is the analysis of public blockchain data to understand transactions, wallet addresses, token movement, and the risk patterns linked to them. Because many blockchains are transparent, analysts can cluster addresses, trace fund flows, and connect activity to services, exchanges, or infrastructure. This matters in cyber security because criminals often use crypto for ransomware payments, fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, and marketplace settlements.

In real investigations, blockchain intelligence helps defenders enrich alerts, identify laundering chains, spot reused wallets, and prioritize suspicious transfers alongside IP, domain, and malware data. It can also support compliance and threat hunting by showing where funds move after an attack. The main limitation is context: addresses alone do not prove identity, so good analysis combines blockchain telemetry with other evidence and careful validation before action is taken.
